The village and its 1.000 inhabitants use their advantages well in country-tourism. Silence, traditional hospitality, unique cuisine are the most important features of the region. The freetime- and fishing lake also offers a great opportunity for holidayers.

Location:

(Westbalaton region) Zala county:
Zalacsány lies in the middle of the Zala-Valley, at rout 76 connecting Keszthely and Zalaegerszeg.

History:

Zalacsány was always popular amongst the Hungarian nobility. The family Csány owned the village and its surroundings in the 14th century. Zalacsány later became a property of the family Batthyány. The mansion, built by the new owner is one of the symbols of the village nowadays. The family Tersánszky had built a beautiful mansion here as well. The building stands in the place of the birthhouse of the best-known personality of Zalacsány: Csány László who was a minister during the revolution and freedom fight in 1848-49, and maybe the most enthausiastic follower of the famous Hunagrian prime-minister,  Kossuth Lajos. He was killed on the 10th of October, in 1849. The park of the mansion is a protected area.

In the 1970's, by the impounding of a small river was created a fishing and free-time lake, for fishermen and holidayers. In 1996, a cycling route was built between Zalacsány and the Thermalbath of Kehidakustány.
